दुसरा गट - Auxiliary Verb


नियम १

दुसऱ्या गटामधील Adverb Clause of Condition च्या Subordinating Clause मध्ये कुठलेही Subordinating Conjunction वापरलेले नसते.

नियम २

इंग्रजी व्याकरणामधील ही एक विशिष्ट रचना असून तिचा उपयोग "जर एखादी गोष्ट...असती तर...झाले असते" असा अर्थ दर्शविण्यासाठी केला जातो. प्रत्यक्षात मात्र ती घटना घडलेली नसते हे लक्षात घ्यावे.

नियम ३

दुसऱ्या गटामधील Adverb Clause of Condition च्या Subordinating Clause ची सुरूवात ही नेहमी had, did किंवा were यांपैकी एखाद्या Auxiliary Verb ने केलेली असते.

या रचनेमध्ये वापरलेले Auxiliary Verb हे नेहमी Past Tense चे असते.

Ex. 1
  • Had I not seen this with my own eyes, I would not have believed it.
  • Main Clause :
    I would not have believed this
  • Subordinate Clause :
    Had I not seen it with my own eyes
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb would not have believed in the Main Clause.
Ex. 2
  • I would fly away, had I the wings of a bird.
  • Main Clause :
    I would fly away
  • Subordinate Clause :
    had I the wings of a bird.
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb would fly in the Main Clause.
Ex. 3
  • He would have been happier had he been more honest.
  • Main Clause :
    He would have been happier
  • Subordinate Clause :
    had he been more honest
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb would have been in the Main Clause.
Ex. 4
  • Were an angel to tell me such a thing of you, I would not believe it.
  • Main Clause :
    I would not believe it
  • Subordinate Clause :
    were an angel to tell me such a thing of you
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb would not believe in the Main Clause.
Ex. 5
  • Did I give you a good piece of advice, you would have improved your behaviour.
  • Main Clause :
    you would have improved your behaviour
  • Subordinate Clause :
    did I give you a good piece of advice
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb would have improved in the Main Clause.
