Noun Clause as Complement of Verb of Incomplete Predication


नामात्मक गौणवाक्य (क्रियापदाचे पूरक)



नियम १

Noun Clause as Complement of Verb (नाऊन क्लॉज् ऍज् कॉम्प्लिमेंट ऑफ व्हर्ब) ही Complex Sentence ची रचना समजली जाते.

नियम २

या Complex Sentence मधील Subordinating Clause चा संबंध वाक्यातील Main Clause मधील To be च्या Verb शी असतो.

नियम ३

या रचनेमध्ये Subordinating Conjunction ने सुरु झालेला Subordinating Clause हा Main Clause मधील is, are, was, were, will be, shall be यांपैकी एखाद्या To be च्या Verb ला जोडून वापरलेला असतो.

 

नियम ४

याचाच अर्थ असा कि हा संपूर्ण Noun Clause त्या To be च्या Verb चे Complement म्हणून वापरलेला असतो.

Ex. 1
  • My belief is that he will not come.
  • Main Clause :
    My belief is
  • Subordinate Clause :
    that he will not come.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb is in the Main Clause.
Ex. 2
  • Her constant prayer was that the child might live.
  • Main Clause :
    Her constant prayer was
  • Subordinate Clause :
    that the child might live.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb was in the Main Clause.
Ex. 3
  • Their request will be that they will be allowed to resign.
  • Main Clause :
    Their request will be
  • Subordinate Clause :
    that they will be allowed to resign.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb will be in the Main Clause.
Ex. 4
  • This is where I live.
  • Main Clause :
    This is
  • Subordinate Clause :
    where I live.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb is in the Main Clause.
Ex. 5
  • Life is what we make it.
  • Main Clause :
    Life is
  • Subordinate Clause :
    what we make it.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb is in the Main Clause.
Ex. 6
  • That was why I didn't come.
  • Main Clause :
    That was
  • Subordinate Clause :
    why I didn't come.
  • Noun Clause as the Complement of the Verb was in the Main Clause.
