Noun Clause as Object of Verb


नामात्मक गौणवाक्य (क्रियादर्शक क्रियापदाचे कर्म)


नियम १

Noun Clause च्या Complex Sentence मध्ये दोन वाक्यांना जोडण्यासाठी Subordinating Conjunction चा उपयोग केला जातो.

नियम २

Noun Clause ची रचना असलेल्या Complex Sentence मधील ज्या वाक्याच्या आरंभी Subordinating Conjunction वापरलेले असते, त्या वाक्याला Subordinating Clause (सबॉर्डिनेटिंग् क्लॉज् - गौणवाक्य) म्हणतात, तर उरलेल्या वाक्याला Main Clause (मेन क्लॉज् - मुख्यवाक्य) असे म्हणतात.

नियम ३

या विषयामध्ये Main Clause मधील To चे Verb हे नेहमी Transitive (सकर्मक) असते.

तसेच, वाक्यातील Subordinating Clause हा त्या Transitive Verb ला जोडलेला असतो.

नियम ४

अशा वाक्यामध्ये केवळ Main Clause मधील To चे Verb हे Transitive असल्यामुळे या Subordinating Clause ला Noun Clause समजावे.

तसेच, या संपूर्ण Noun Clause ला वाक्यातील Main Clause मधील Transitive Verb चे Object समजावे.

नियम ५

कधीकधी Main Clause मधील Transitive Verb आणि Noun Clause मधील Subordinating Conjunction यांच्या मध्ये एखादे Common Noun किंवा Proper Noun किंवा Accusative Case चे Pronoun हे Indirect Object म्हणून वापरलेले असते.

अशा वेळी Noun Clause चा संबंध Indirect Object शी न जोडता Transitive Verb शी जोडावा लागतो हे लक्षात ठेवावे.

नियम ६

Noun Clause च्या Complex Sentence मध्ये वापरण्यात येणारी Subordinating Conjunctions पुढे दिल्याप्रमाणे आहेत.

  • He says that he won’t go.
  • Main Clause :
    He says
  • Subordinate Clause :
    that he won't go
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb says in the Main Clause.
Ex. 2
  • I cannot tell what has become of him.
  • Main Clause :
    I cannot tell
  • Subordinate Clause :
    what has become of him
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb tell in the Main Clause.
Ex. 3
  • She doesn't know when he will return.
  • Main Clause :
    She doesn't know
  • Subordinate Clause :
    when he will return
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb know in the Main Clause.
Ex. 4
  • She asked the boy how old he was.
  • Main Clause :
    She asked the boy
  • Subordinate Clause :
    how old he was
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb asked in the Main Clause.
Ex. 5
  • Tell me why you did this.
  • Main Clause :
    Tell me
  • Subordinate Clause :
    why you did this
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb Tell in the Main Clause.

  • He asked me where I live.
  • Main Clause :
    He asked me
  • Subordinate Clause :
    where I live
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb asked in the Main Clause.

  • No one knows who he is.
  • Main Clause :
    No one knows
  • Subordinate Clause :
    who he is
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb knows in the Main Clause.

  • They asked me whether my father was at home.
  • Main Clause :
    They asked me
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whether my father was at home
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb asked in the Main Clause.

  • We wanted to know if she got her share.
  • Main Clause :
    We wanted to know
  • Subordinate Clause :
    if she got her share
  • Noun Clause as the Object of the Verb know in the Main Clause.
