Subordinating Conjunctions

तिसऱ्या गटामधील Adverb Clause of Condition च्या Subordinating Clause ची सुरूवात नेहमी पुढीलपैकी एखाद्या Subordinating Conjunction ने केलेली असते.

whatever (व्हॉटेवर)
जे काही असेल तरी
whichever (व्हिचेवर)
जे कोणी असेल तरी
however (हाउएव्हर)
कितीही प्रमाणावर असेल तरी
नियम १

whichever आणि however चा Subordinating Clause

ज्या Subordinating Clause ची सुरुवात whichever किंवा however यांपैकी एखाद्या Subordinating Conjunction ने केलेली असते, तो Subordinating Clause नेहमी Adverb Clause of Condition असतो.

whatever चा Subordinating Clause

नियम २

whatever पासून सुरू झालेला Subordinating Clause हा एकतर Noun Clause as Object of Verb असतो किंवा Noun Clause as Subject of Verb असतो किंवा Adverb Clause of Condition असू शकतो.

नियम ३

Noun Clause as Object of Verb

whatever ने सुरु झालेला Subordinating Clause जर Main Clause मधील Transitive Verb ला जोडलेला असेल, तर हा Subordinating Clause नेहमी Noun Clause as Object of Verb समजावा.

परंतु, whatever ने सुरु झालेला Subordinating Clause जर Main Clause मधील Intransitive Verb ला जोडलेला असेल, तर हा Subordinating Clause नेहमी Adverb Clause of Reason समजावा.

नियम ४

Noun Clause as Subject of Verb

वाक्याची सुरूवात जेव्हा whatever च्या Subordinating Clause ने केलेली असते आणि त्याला जोडून Main Clause मध्ये is, was, will be, look, seem, appear, make, become यांपैकी एखादे Verb वापरलेले असते, तेव्हा हा Subordinating Clause नेहमी Noun Clause as Subject of Verb समजावा.

परंतु, Main Clause मध्ये वरीलपैकी कोणतेही Verb वापरलेले नसेल, तर हा Subordinating Clause नेहमी Adverb Clause of Condition समजावा.

  • Whatever happens, you should keep calm.
  • Main Clause :
    I shall buy it
  • Subordinate Clause :
    Whatever happens
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb should keep in the Main Clause.
Ex. 2
  • Don't annoy him, whatever you do.
  • Main Clause :
    Don't annoy him
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whatever you do
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb don't annoy in the Main Clause.
Ex. 3
  • Whichever road we take, we shall be too late.
  • Main Clause :
    we shall be too late
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whichever road we take
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb shall be in the Main Clause.
Ex. 4
  • You will not escape whichever trick you employ.
  • Main Clause :
    You will not escape
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whichever trick you employ
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb will not escape in the Main Clause.
Ex. 5
  • However cleverly you may cheat, you will be found out at last.
  • Main Clause :
    you will be found out at last
  • Subordinate Clause :
    However cleverly you may cheat
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb will be found out in the Main Clause.
Ex. 6
  • The judge will declare you guilty however sincerely your lawyer defends you.
  • Main Clause :
    The judge will declare you guilty
  • Subordinate Clause :
    however sincerely your lawyer defends you
  • Adverb clause of condition modifying the verb will declare in the Main Clause.
