नियम १

Adverb Clause of Place (अॅड्व्हर्ब क्लॉज् ऑफ् प्लेस) ची रचना जेव्हा एखाद्या वाक्यामध्ये वापरलेली असते, तेव्हा ते वाक्य नेहमी Complex Sentence चे समजले जाते.

नियम २

Adverb Clause of Place मधील Subordinating Clause ची सुरूवात नेहमी पुढीलपैकी एखाद्या Subordinating Conjunction ने केलेली असते.

नियम ३

where चा Subordinating Clause

ज्या Subordinating Clause ची सुरुवात where या Subordinating Conjunction ने केलेली असते,तो Subordinating Clause एकतर Noun Clause असतो, Adjective Clause असतो किंवा Adverb Clause of Place असू शकतो.

Noun Clause

Where चा संबंध जेव्हा Main Clause मधील Transitive Verb शी जोडलेला असतो, तेव्हा तो Subordinating Clause हा नेहमी Noun Clause as Object of Verb समजावा.

Adjective Clause

Where चा संबंध जर Main Clause मधील एखाद्या स्थलदर्शक Noun शी जोडलेला असेल, तर त्या Subordinating Clause ला Adjective Clause समजावे.

Adverb Clause of Place

मात्र, जेव्हा where चा संबंध Main Clause मधील एखाद्या स्थलदर्शक Noun शी किंवा Transitive Verb शी जोडलेला नसतो, तेव्हा त्या Subordinating Clause ला Adverb Clause of Place असे म्हणतात.

  • I have put it where I can find it again.
  • Main Clause :
    I have put it
  • Subordinate Clause :
    where I can find it again
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb put in the Main Clause.
Ex. 2
  • They can stay where they are.
  • Main Clause :
    They can stay
  • Subordinate Clause :
    where they are
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb can stay in the Main Clause.
Ex. 3
  • He led the travellers wherever they wanted to go.
  • Main Clause :
    He led the travellers
  • Subordinate Clause :
    wherever they wanted to go
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb led in the Main Clause.
Ex. 4
  • Go quickly whence you have come.
  • Main Clause :
    Go quickly
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whence you have come
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb go in the Main Clause.
Ex. 5
  • I will go whither you go.
  • Main Clause :
    I will go
  • Subordinate Clause :
    whither you go
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb will go in the Main Clause.
Ex. 6
  • Some seeds fell where there was no earth.
  • Main Clause :
    Some seeds fell
  • Subordinate Clause :
    where there was no earth
  • Adverb clause of place modifying the verb fell in the Main Clause.
